ABOUT ABOUT

A red cape, a strand of golden hair, a golden shoe, and a white cow. The search for these four items send a baker and his wife through the woods on a magical journey to reverse an evil spell. This magical tale of love and adventure has profound messages for us all: The world can be frightening and dangerous. It is also miraculous and hope-filled. As we emerge from the year we've all had, this message could not be more important.

With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, book by James Lapine, Into the Woods showcases our most talented teens and young adults as part of our DREAM VTC training program, which is by audition only, and provides a professional rehearsal process for pre-professionals, who have set their sights on the Great Bright Way!

Please see the photo gallery for the performance schedule for the roles that are double-cast.

We share our building with two dance studios, which happen to be right above our theater.  We try our best to work their dance schedules in to the ambiance of our shows!

All seats have excellent views of the stage. 80 people maximum to observe COVID distancing recommendations.  Our space has state of the art HVAC and air exchange, touchless fixtures, and is disenfected regularly.  Proof of vaccination is required.  Masks must be worn at all times.

SEAT SELECTION:  If you are using a mobile device or tablet, the default setting of your the mobile browser will not allow you to choose  individual seats. The seats will be assigned by "best available" in each section. However, if you engage the Desktop version of the event page from your mobile browser's settings, you can chose your own seats.

Restrictions

Please leave plenty of time to arrive at the theater.  There is onstreet parking, and parking is also available in the Lackawanna Plaza parking lot behind TD Bank, just up the street.  Our COVID safety protocols are as follows:

* anyone entering Vanguard Theater will be temperature checked, and must show proof of vaccination (please contact us regarding medical exceptions). While we understand that vaccinations, in and of themselves, do not prevent transmission or contraction of COVID, they greatly minimize the severity of symptoms and need for hospitalization, and thus benefit public health;

* to minimize virus transmission, all patrons and staff must wear N95 or KN95 masks in the theater.  They are available for purchase at the box-office for $3 each.

* we have increased air filtration by purchasing an industrial air scrubber and several powerful HEPA air purifiers;

* we have suspended concessions sales to minimize mask removal;

* all actors and staff will rapid-test within four hours of each rehearsal and performance.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep one another as healthy as possible!
